  I've heard Daryl WX1DER talk about D-Star and Echo Link but I haven't been

  Fusion doesn't interest Me one bit since it is a Yaesu product.  
    
  I don't care for Yaesu gear because of them continuing building their XCVR's  
  with the 27 Mc/s range on the Band Switch in the 1970's even after our F.C.  
  C.  
  took that Frequency Band away from Hams in the late 1950's.  
    
  I was saving up $350.00 USD to buy a HF SSB XCVR but the price doubled  
  while I was still gathering up my money because people who didn't care to  
  study for their Ham License were buying them at the $350.00 price and using  
  them to transmit on the 11 Meter U.S. Citizens Band, and frequencies they  
  weren't authorized to use.  
    
  So many of Their XCVRs were being bought that all the Amateur Radio XCVR  
  Manufacturers doubled their price, and those folks with the deep pockets  
  were still buying them, and using them.  
    
  Yaesu continued having the 27 Mc/s Band on their XCVRs when I finally got  
  enought money to buy my own HF SSB rig, so I wasn't going to give that  
  company any of my money.  
  (I don't know if they ever removed that Band from their Rigs.)  
    
  The Trio-Kenwood Company HF SSB XCVRs didn't have the 27 Mc/s selection on  
  the Band Switch, so I bought a 520.  
    
  I thought the $7??.00 USD price range I paid for my HF XCVR in the 1970's  
  was hugh.  
  But I'm a Cheap LID.    .... ..  
    
  I am VERY GLAD I can keep up with what is going on with Amateur Radio by  
  reading Messages in BBS Echos.  
    
  I looked at all of the messages that You have written that I have in my  
  BBS saved message file but didn't notice your OE Call Sign in any of those  
  messges.  
    
  Are You a Licensed Amateur Radio Operator?
