          Yes.  This is especially important when you want to run cables  
  between  
  the stage & the first row of seats, as many people seem to do in school  
  gyms &  
  auditoriums.  If these cables aren't firmly attached to the floor they may  
  not  
  remain where you put them.  In the absence of a savvy attendant who will  
  stand  
  on them for you they'll be pushed at right angles to the line of travel of  
  the  
  first wheelchair whose occupant tries to drive over them.  You don't want  
  some  
  elderly lady to break her hip, we don't want your electrical equipment to  
  fall  
  on the piano... but the majority of elderly ladies & wheelchair users can  
  cope  
  with a 1/4" bump on the surface of the floor *as long as it stays put*.  
    
          Where an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, your  
  investment  
  in gaffer tape may be the cheapest & easiest alternative in the long run.
