  Subj: personal monitor mixing question
following up a message from Richard Webb to all:

In case you're wondering I'd like to tell you waht prompted
my query of last week, and invite anybody to comment.

A thread in the newsgroup rec.audio.pro was touting a new
development in the personal monitoring system world which
enables folks to control their mix via an iPhone app. Hmmm, this old geezer
still likes actualbuttons and knobs, and
doesn't own an iPhone with no plans to acquire one.

Were I to find myself gigging with folks who'd gone in-ear
I'd be glad to probably visit my friendly audiologist to do
the ear mold, etc. But, the last thing I want to do as a
blind man is have to deal with a gui while I'm on the
  bandstand.

Then there comes the question of festival type gigs. WEre I doing the
provision of a system for an event such as this I
might be loath to reconfigure my monitor mix desk, amps etc. to accomodate
in-ears and personal monitor mix stations for
one act that might play 45 minutes.

So, for anybody who's a performer who uses them I'm curious
what you do in festival type situations.

  Regards,
   Richard
