I have no interest in Beck, but if you want to see how shallow this "mediamatters" story about Byron Williams really is, see: http://reason.com/blog/2010/10/11/byron-williams-talks or you can go all the way back to the interview that the Reason story reported on: http://www.examiner.com/sf-in-san-francisco/freeway-gunman-byron williams-says-glenn-beck-did-not-incite-him-to-violence The title sort of gives it away. One line from the story, in fact: "He also said he felt forced to act out in violence because Beck and others in the right wing media were not fighting hard enough against organizations like the left-leaning Tides Foundation. " and later in the article: "When asked directly if he knew about the Tides Foundation before Beck mentioned it, Williams replied, ôYes, I already had all that information that he used on one or two of his programs. I already knew all of that stuff. And to me it was more of a confirmation of what I already knew. ô When asked if it hadnÆt been for Glenn Beck and Fox News, whether he still would have planned violence, Williams said that it was because Fox News didnÆt do enough to pursue the political left that he became frustrated and felt like violence was the only answer. The freeway gunman said, ôIÆm actually mad at Fox. IÆm mad at them because they go on to something else. ItÆs like they drop the issue and it lands on a shelf somewhere to collect dust. And thatÆs whatÆs happening to the truth. " This will all come as a shock to Sauer.
