  Thanks for the pointer. I checked, and this doesn't look like the same root  
  cause as #1111:  
    
  openssl x509 -in import-for-wss.pem -noout -subject subject=CN=trapdoor.

  The cert does have a subjectName DN, so the "missing DN" explanation from  
  #1111 doesn't seem to apply here. Re-opening per your note above âÇö happy  
  to provide any further diagnostics that would help narrow down the actual  
  cause of the -43 in this case.
