
README.TXT for STORMSAV Screen saver (Version 1.0)

This the Stormsav Internet screen saver.  It is run when the PC is
left idle for a period of time.  It is selected by using
the Windows desktop accessed from the Control Panel. 


STORMSAV is an Internet screen saver.  Your Windows machine must
be connected to the Internet and be running windows sockets for
it to work.  If you can run Netscape, this screen saver should 
work for you.


This screen saver connects to an Internet weather provider to find
out the five day forcast in a city selected by you.  It then 
graphically displays rain, sunshine, and other weather patterns
on the screen one forcast at a time.

     STORMSAV.CIT - Cities that have weather information available

     1.  This file (README.TXT) is included.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

In order to run the STORMSAV screen saver you need to (1) copy it
into the Windows directory, (2) tell Windows to use it, and (3) tell
the screen saver the city in which you would like the weather 
forcast.

(1) Copy the following files into the C:\WINDOWS directory on 
    your hard disk:

	stormsav.sta
	stormsav.cit
	stormsav.scr

(2)   Next you need to tell Windows to run it. From the Control
    Panel, double click on the Desktop Icon. When the Dialog box
    appears,  select "Stormsav - weather" from the list of 
    screen savers.   This is done by moving down to the screen 
    saver section and clicking on the down arrow on the right 
    side of the "Name" list box. Once the list appears move the 
    cursor to "Stormsav - weather" and click on it.  The Setup 
    button allows you to change options and add password protection.

(3) Specify the city in which you would like the weather forcast.

    Click on the Setup button in the Windows Desktop.

    a.  Select the State in which the city resides.
	The city list will automatically update.

    b.  Select the specific city.
	Many cities are not available, try to select a city
 	nearby.  

    c.  Move to next time period after XXX seconds 
	allows you to specify how much time to spend on each
	day's forcast

    d.  Recheck weather every XXX hours
	allows you to specify how often STORMSAV should network
	to the weather server.
