City and Country Rail Road

CCRR.NT3 - A Bahn340 file.

Purely fictional, with no plans, timetables, or original location.

I wanted to see what I could do with Bahn340. It is such a good program.
I had seen many other layouts from other people, and I felt that there was
a place for a fictional layout.

The original plan was too complicated, and took far too long for 24Hrs of
train time. I had to reduce the number and size of many trains. Some scenery
is lacking as the layout almost fills memory. Some stations still require
names, but I shall let you name them.
Station names are taken from a variety of sources. They are substantially
fictional.

Yard Loops. In order to save some space, yards are made up of more than one
line. Entry is by setting Alternate Points; 1:1, 2:1 etc.
At the entry to yards, the last signal from the single line has a counter
set up. The Aus Contacts are just over one train length into the loops. The
counter is designed to stop following trains from fouling the points. I
never liked to see trains fouling points when they are standing still.

At the exit of these yards, you will see rather strange signalling. Two rows
of signals in front of the trains. The first signal the train reaches,
controls exit from the the individual loop. The second signal in line
controls access to running line. The first (loop) signal is called a
cascading signal. Bahn tends to release trains from loops in a rather random
way, and cascading signals followed by controlling signals, is the best way
to keep control of this situation.

I am indebted to Iain Logan for his assistance and comments on this layout,
particularly with the cascading signals idea.

Shareware:
This layout is shareware, and as such, you are encouraged to distribute it
widely. All I ask is that the layout and this file are kept together.

This layout represents many hours of work, not only laying the track, but
also with the time consuming time-tables. Please support Shareware by
rewarding the author with 5 Pounds UK, 8 Dollars US/Canada, 13DM.
I accept Cash, Cheques, Postal/Money orders. In Canada, you can get a Post
Office international money order in UK currency.

If you have produced Bahn layouts which are public, then you are excused
payment.

If you are in the UK, Pop into your local Post Office, get a Transcash form,
and enter David Paxton in the name of the account, and 18 335 4109 in the
account number. There is a fee payable at the Post Office, so deduct that
fee from your payment.
If you have an Alliance and Leicester Giro Account, (was Girobank at every
post office) enter the above details onto a Transfer Slip, and post it
to Bootle.
