It just goes against my grain that's all. I prefer to write lightweight,
lightening fast applications. Microsoft appears to have developed a
different philosophy: Jam pack everything with features, tools and
possibilities but at the end of the day when you want to write a little app
it's going to rely on this bulky framework to carry it. If the OS & apps
were trimmed down then we'd only need half the computing power... or we'd be
getting double the performance with the current computing power. Then add
all extras as they become required.

I don't have a lot of experience with .net so I could be wrong, but it
appears to be typical Microsoft bloat style :)

Am I going to need a flameproof coat after this post? I hope not, I'm not
trying to rock the boat, this is just my observation.
