   In this territory, there are always some "excepts" and "gotchas", but I think   
   this is a correct summary:   
      
   1. If you convert the data file to Access 2000 or later format, your VB app as   
   is will not run. You will need to recompile it, using ADO 2.8, meaning the   
   later   
   VB service packs and later versions of MDAC. The file will no longer be   
   readable   
   by Access 97.   
      
   2. If you don't convert the file, you can "enable" it for use with Access 2003.   
   This will allow you to edit data in it using Access 2003, but you will not be   
   able to modify table structures - no adding fields or indexes, modifying field   
   definitions, or creating or editing relationships.
