   If you're just looking to try it out and get some feeling for it, there is a   
   *free* downloadable "Express" version you can get directly from MS.  You can   
   work with it and even sell you work under the license terms, and it appears   
   to implement virtually the entire base language.  Other 2005 .Net languages   
   are also available this way.  You can pay and upgrade later if you need some   
   advanced enterprise feature(s).
