   It that was true, why do you hate gays?  Why are you opposed to seame sex   
   marriage?  Would you feel comfortable if you saw your son talking to a man   
   you knew was gay?   
      
   The proponents of proposition 8 in California played on peoples' fear of   
   homosexuals.  According to them, unless prop 8 passes, same sex marriages   
   would be taught to first graders.  It was an effective fear campaign.
