From: Impedance@UgotOCD.invalid              I add some gasoline and it heats the water faster and with less electricity       than ever before. Pedal power will not produce that much electricity. Hot water       > is needed all year around.              I wouldn't even bother with the conversion to electricity, just driving a       water pump with pedals will heat the water by friction, hence those       "fuel-less heater" scam videos on Youtube. I found this out the hard way       when I was overdriving a Maytag washing machine drain pump that had the hose       hooked to form a loop with a 1/3rd horsepower motor that had a large pulley       on it, the water got hot, expanded, blew off the hose, and gave me 2nd and       spotty 3rd degree scald burns on my lower left leg. A couple of cups of       water tends to heat up fast when you are putting the better part of 250       watts into it.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
