   Me too.  It takes time to obtain this experience though.   
      
   Until recently, my little PV system had big 6-volt AGM batteries that   
   were five years old when I acquired them.  I got another ten years out   
   of them!  I recently replaced them with name-brand flooded golf cart   
   batteries because those were reasonable in price and easily available in   
   my area.  It's been less than a year, and already I'm starting to   
   suspect I made a mistake.   
      
   Check back with me in a few years and I will be able to add more to this   
   story.
