From: Impedance@UgotOCD.invalid              Sounds like temperatures fluctuating all over the place in a complex       algorithm (nothing to do with a US scammer) that can get out of control and       is hard to correct.              We spend lots of money attempting to get even temperatures throughout our       house and then they come along with one that "thinks" it knows when to turn       the heat up and down...and learns that you adjust the temperature when it is       too late and the house is already too cold or too hot.              I have used AIC (adaptive intelligent compensating) thermostats and always       had to turn the setting off. The Weather intelligence sounds real good but a       simple outdoor reset sensor would do the same thing. Hard to compensate for       radiant solar heat though. It doesn't measure well on a temperature sensor.              The idea sounds great and after the initial people needing constant updates       pay for the development, and the product survives that long from the bad       reviews, we will see how well it functions.              I will wait for a unit in a dual heating stage , dual A/C cooling stage ,       dual fan stage with HRV cycling and multiple scenes unit that can talk to       other thermostats and instruct them which time of day and scene to use.              -------------       "Morris Dovey" wrote in message news:j8808n$7uq$1@speranza.aioe.org...              It isn't available yet, and it seems to me a bit spendy - but I have to       admit that I'm impressed with a thermostat that can tell if anyone is       home and can learn home/away patterns to maximize comfort and minimize       heating and cooling costs.               http://www.nest.com/living-with-nest/index.html              (No connection with the company - a friend sent me a link and I'm       sharing in case anyone here might be interested.)              --       Morris Dovey       DeSoto Solar       http://www.iedu.com/Solar/              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
