Done that. don't think for a minute that you can prove any       troll wrong. GOPPs will argue tooth and nail for establishment textbook       physics and then the minute one of the new theories becomes the "new"       dogma, they will all turn on a dime and be arguing that "everyone"       always knew the new theory was "fact". And just like your dog who leaves       a stinking pile on your new carpet, you can go rub their noses in it,       and they will simply deny they ever had anything to do with it right to       your face. It's hard to deal with basic dishonesty like that. But as       I've pointed out here a thousand times, this kind of behavior isn't       science, it's POLITICS. All standard political fare easily observed in       any election cycle.              And it is of interest that the very reason I was "banned for life" from       PhysicsForums was a discussion (in the "lounge", not even a regular       "science" forum) of how I used to argue with a host of scientists (back       when they were all bashing Velikovsky's theories) over "the theory of       uniformity" which they all assured me was a "fact"...you know just like       AGW is today, and then later once science decided that volcanos,       asteroids, earthquakes and other major events actually DO occur, they       all swore up and down that they NEVER had advocated the uniformity       theory. Never! Right to my face! PhysicsForums felt that this personal       saga was proof positive I was a "crackpot". That is was "treating       scientists with disrespect" :-) Isn't it amazing how many people there       are seeking public esteem for their scientific ability who wouldn't       (couldn't?) practice the scientific method if their lives depended on       it. And even lower are the herd of bootlickers such as the Internet GOPP       trolls and moderators of (so-called) PhysicsForums.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
