From: justin@nospambecauseitsucks.edu              What is the maximum amount of electricity a nuclear battery could       produce and still be small enough to mount and operate inside an       aircraft? For example a Boeing 717. The 717 has a max payload of       12,000kg, but let’s keep it around 6,000kg so we have enough weight to       spare for other cargo. As for the type of “nuclear battery” whatever       you think would be most practical on an aircraft. Would it be better to       run the generator/battery while on the ground to charge some       capacitors/chemical batteries and then shut it down and button it up       while in flight? Similar to how old Diesel submarines would run their       engines on the surface to charge up their batteries.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
