   PG&E was sued for billions of dollars for the Santa Rosa fire, because   
   some ambulance chasing lawyers got dollar signs in their eyes when wind   
   blew down a power line and sparked a fire.  Recall, also, that the   
   Durango and Silverton Railroad has been sued for millions of dollars for   
   the fire a couple of summers ago allegedly sparked by one of their steam   
   locomotives.   
      
   The fire in Santa Rosa took out entire neighborhoods and one of the   
   results is it is difficult or impossible to insure a home in the   
   fire-prone areas of the state.   
      
   I can't fault PG&E for learning from the first billion dollar lawsuit.   
   The definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing after getting   
   burned the first time, to paraphrase Albert Einstein. Their customers   
   would revolt if they raised rates to cover the cost of moving power   
   lines underground.
