|    thermal fuses and planned obsolescence..    |

From: noone@nospam.com              Recently, all toasters, hair dryers, curling irons, cooking rings etc.       are equipped with thermal fuses, which blow sometime, making the device       not working, also useless. We just bypass it, as it's pointless to       replace it, as it will blow again, and it doesn't protect from       anything. And in ovens (in normal stoves) nothing is stainless steel       anymore; the screws, the sliding rails, the fan they're all normal       steel, probably just galvanized. When I got to repair an oven, I change       them with stainless steel ones. And I explain to my customers. that to       the manufacturer a stainless steel screw versus a galvanized steel one,       costs next to nothing, ditto a fan. They do it deliberately, so that the       oven breaks down and you'll have to replace it. Also the steel quality       has much declined; they get holes (the ovens) in a few years.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
