   Thanks- I have resorted to Xnews as t-Bird 17.0.4 on my win 7 machine   
   allows me tosend but while it says that it downloads messages- they dont   
   appear- your message didn't appear and supposedly there are no new   
   messages? It is a T bird problem or possibly a protection problem with   
   Kasperski  (shutting this off didn't help) and Xnews has no problem with my   
   service provider.
