   There was a certain bias in underreporting of the impact of the   
   Multnomah County Tax.   Most of the "tax calculators" in the Oregonian   
   and on various websites "assumed" that the taxpayer had an average   
   income of around $20,000/yr or so and thus presented the tax a of a   
   few hundred extra dollars per year.   Not bad right?  Plus it's for   
   the kids...   
      
   Curiously, the impact of the tax on an income of $60,000 or more was   
   never mentioned, even though this represented a serious bite out of   
   someones budget in that income category.   
      
   Just to be required to fill out all that extra paperwork at tax time   
   is a big negative incentive to live in Portland/Multnomah County and   
   is just another example of what a poor business climate the county   
   represents to the state.
