I'm not sure about Dave Brauner, and I'm not certain they've found the
military outhouses yet. There was some discussion about it, but I only
overheard it 'cause I was on the other side of the house.

One thing they said is that for decades, even after the fort was officially
closed, folks you to hang out on the side of the house and bang away at the
hillside, so they found countless brass cartriges of various size (mostly
.22) on the side of the house we were digging. No surprise that I found
about a dozen, but the percussion caps were the most interesting in that
   regard.

Ohthouses are definately the place to look. I think it was Savannah where
somebody dug an artillery shell from a huge-ass Confederate seige cannon out
of one. (How'd you like to be six feet down a shithole and find out you're
sharing it with a live bomb?)
