   Well, no problem any more. "Dr Madeleine Cosman," whose background is   
   mysterious and whose credentials are unconfirmed, died earlier this year   
   of scleroderma.  She published nothing except oft-quoted racist claims   
   that immigrants are bringing smallpox across our borders (ignoring the   
   fact that there still hasn't been a case of smallpox in decades) and is   
   quoted exclusively in ultra-right blogs and extremist "news"   
   publications.  If she's not entirely fictional, she's clearly a fake   
   academic who staked a claim to a racist arguing point used by   
   unquestioning bigots to back up their generalized hatred of minorities.
