   No, I don't think she had those particular insects, though.   
      
   The spider was fascinating to watch, but the mantis was the most fun.   If   
   you threw two crickets in with it it would snatch them both, have one   
   headlocked in one claw while it was chawed on the head of the one in the   
   other.  It ate them more or less like people eat corn on the cob.   I put a   
   couple of plastic army men in its tank to add to the cheap sci-fi horror   
   movie effect.   
      
   My idea of course was to put the black widow in the tank with the mantis and   
   see what happened, but she would have none of it and considered the idea   
   cruel. Go figure.
