As would I, but then I know a guy who paid US$150k for a car last
   year.

   A car???

When someone wishes to consume conspicuously, and is determined to do
it, they simply will do it. I'm not certain what they're buying, but
there was a James Garner movie some years back where he played a TX
oilman, and the question of Money came up in the discussion.

His remarks was something otoo, "The money's not important. It's just
the way of keeping score." That seems to work on both the earning and
spending side -- as you see demonstrated hereon every now and again.

The same folks will rant about the UnFairness of the property taxes
later too, as if they weren't aware of it at closing.

But it keeps lawyers and accountants employed, and Lowered Nose what
other things they'd be up to if they weren't.

   It all works out.
