   While we'll never know the the answer, but my biggest question since we learned   
   searchers had found his body was 'Why'. Why did you leave the road and start   
   down a drainage. He would have probably survived back to the main highway. A   
   drainage that doubled back to close to where he'd left the car. He knew where   
   he'd been. Why go into the unknown.   
      
   And yes. Leaving the car was his first mistake. Obviously if he had waited it   
   out, the whole family would have been rescued.
