   I haven't seen the results of any official investigation. What I have   
   heard is that haven't thay discounted machinery/work as a source. It was   
   said that normal events that would not create problems in   
   average/normalregular weather could start a fire in this weather.   
      
   Spark from machinery, welding, grinding etc. By the time people working   
   realise they have a grass fire, it would require something bigger than a   
   hand fire extinguisher to put out.   
      
   But I do agree that the number of fires does stretch the idea of them   
   all being natural to the breaking point.   
      
   Look at all the smokers still dropping fags on the ground right in front   
   of TV crews reporting the fires.
