It cannot be done that quickly. The mammalian mechanism is
a hodgepodge of actions of enzymes, and other enzymes to limit
them, and there are random mutations. Some of the mutations
are deadly and some are good. The deadly ones kill those who
get them and get eliminated, and cancer is the result of such
mutations. There are probably millions of kinds of cancer.
Probably most people get some form of cancer, and the immune
system takes care of it, but it is difficult for the immune
system to learn to recognize cancer cells as different from
   benign cells.

There are other diseases connected to enzyme mechanisms gone
astray, and allergies are due to the immune system deciding
that some things are to be destroyed, when in fact they are
harmless and the destruction process yields disease. Other
   autoimmune diseases are even worse.
