   No, we just pay the health care professionals twice what Europe pays, so we   
   pay twice as much. Machines are only a small part of it. And, if we try to   
   use even less care, they will just raise the rates to keep their incomes up.   
   Already we go to doctors at half the rate of Canadians. So, they pay less   
   and get more face time too.

   Well we're on the same page about how the professionals get paid. But I   
   can't agree that is the predominant cause either. I'd rank the insurance   
   and pharmaceutical companies higher.
