   It's a match. While it's been suspected for some time, the FDA now   
   confirms that the fungus in tainted steroid shots made by the New   
   England compounding pharmacy matches the fungus connected to the   
   meningitis outbreak spreading across the country.   
      
   Today, another person died from the disease, raising the death toll to   
   21. There are now 271 cases in 16 states.   
      
   And the number of people in Escambia County with the fungal meningitis   
   has risen by one, to 4.   
      
   All four infected people were patients from the same local clinic.   
   They got steroid injections on their back, or on their joints and they   
   got the shots in the same time frame.   
      
   Doctors say if any more cases pop up, it should be from the same   
   source.   
      
   Close to 600 people received potentially tainted shots from the clinic   
   over the summer, so many think the number of people showing symptoms   
   now, are only the tip of the iceberg.   
      
   "I'm sure of it. Most likely, from what I've heard of how many   
   medications were sent out I'm sure we'll probably hear more about it,"   
   said Jessica Henry, Pensacola resident.   
      
   Doctors say all medicine in question is off the shelves. Earlier this   
   week, the FDA recalled eye and heart medications made from the same   
   manufacturers of the back and joint vaccines.   
      
   Several clinics in the area took part in that recall. But doctors say   
   that was all precautionary.   
      
   "There's no correlation right now that the inter-ocular or the eye   
   injections have lead to any disease. It's just they're there and   
   they've occurred that they came from the same company that's why the   
   FDA has pulled all medications - the eyes, the hearts, the joints, -   
   just on the chance they could contribute to disease," said Escambia   
   County Health Department Director John Lanza.   
      
   People say the recalls have eased their concerns.   
      
   "Based on how much knowledge is out there, I'm not really concerned   
   contracting it myself or my family," said Kerry Shanaghan, Pensacola   
   resident.   
      
   But several people worry about the extent of the contamination.   
   Some say they are worried about even the common flu shot. But doctors   
   assure everyone those shots are completely safe.   
      
   "We're talking about a medication used to reduce pain and inflammation   
   - the steroid. And we're talking about a flu shot which has nothing to   
   do with that whatsoever; totally unrelated," Lanza said.   
      
   Lanza says it could take two or three months for meningitis symptoms   
   to show up in people who received the tainted shots. But the CDC is   
   saying it may be necessary to monitor those people for up to a year.   
      
   Doctor Lanza says all but one person who got the shots here in   
   Pensacola have been notified that they may be at risk.

   Steroid Injections are a conventional medical procedure, especially   
   when administered by medical personnel inside a hospital.   
      
   Conventional medicine is a death industry, people!   
      
   It takes more than developing a safe steroid injection.  You have to   
   deliver a safe and effective product to the market place. When will   
   conventional medicine get their drug act, together?
