What is "essential health care"? And even more important, can
we possibly get enough human, not to speak of monetary, resources
to deliver it to all? As I define it, the answer is clearly "NO".

   > Like pull the country up out of a recession that was only months short

He helped ger us into it, and I am not sure that we have really
gotten out of it. I doubt that anyone else would not have had
   comparable results.

   > Like promote the green energy industry before China and India became the
   > dominant players?

THIS has been a complete flop. King Canute could not control
the tide, and so far nobody has found a way to use "green energy"
to an extent which would make an appreciable difference. The only
available energy sources to provide an increase in energy use are
   fossil fuels and nuclear.

I wish it were otherwise, but politics cannot overcome the laws
of nature. Unlike human laws, they are self-enforcing.

Now if we encouraged geniuses with ideas to try to find green
energy sources, we might get somewhere. But we do not know
how to do it now, and pushing wind or solar is not going to
   do the job.

On the contrary, it is you who is blinded by the ideology that
a government can perform miracles. It is completely limited
by the laws of nature, including human nature. Socialism has
been already shown to be lacking.
