But, they are not all that essential,        lacebo-controlled trials and randomized controlled trials will do in most       cases.              While science is immortal, people are not. Therefore, as new information       comes in smart people have to learn to move on limited information generated       from less than perfect randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial       research.              Of course, epidemiological research is still being conducted in the new       millennium.              In all cases, statistical methods are used to minimize the effects of       confounding variables.                     The non-existent persons know as Jan Drew, carole, or any of their socks need       NOT reply.
