   > According to the media, Howard Dean is the epitome of the Democratic
   > activist -he has mobilized the peace movement and he has single-handedly
   > managed to control the Internet

According to those same media Dean is an immature, out of control,
anger-obsessed maniac who makes funny noises on Martin Luther King's
   birthday.

   > Howard Dean is the biggest con artist in American history since Richard
   > Nixon.

Oh, please. Get a grip. Dean is an honest man who thinks he can make a
difference in America, and win or lose the nomination (looks like lose from
here) -- he has. He has challenged the Democratic leadership in this
country - something that was long, long overdue.

   > He has promised to take the government out of the hands of special
   > interest groups and give it back to ordinary voters

   Kerry makes the same claim.

   > yet Howard Dean has also indicated that it is futile to try to reform the
   health care system
   > because Congress will not let him do it.

Incorrect - Dean has not said that it is futile to try to reform the health
care system, he's simply rejected Kucinich's radical plan as un-passable -
   and he's right.

   > Clearly, if Howard Dean cannot even reform the health care system what
makes him think that he is in a position to take
   > the government out of the hands of special interest groups?

The White House and who it allows in to influence is under control of the
President - he wouldn't have to vet those changes through Congress.

   > First and foremost, the notion that Howard Dean is a peace activist is
   > absolutely fraudulent.

Maybe that's why Howard Dean isn't claiming to be a 'peace activist'. He
has repeatedly stated that he supported prior U.S. military action,
including the first Gulf war, Kosovo, and the Bush-ordered invasion of
Afghanistan. He's said he would do what it takes to defend America,
including the use of military intervention, and just last night said to Tim
Russert that he as President would have to be prepared to use the nuclear
option because you don't take military options off the table.

So not sure where you're getting this fantasy that Dean or anyone promoting
him has represented him as a 'peace activist'. That's Kucinich.

   >Despite the popular misrepresentation that Howard Dean is a peace activist
   who opposes war,

   Where is this nonexistent "misrepresentation"?

Cite, please. It sure as hell isn't coming out of the Dean camp.

   > Dean even endorsed the Bush doctrine of preemptive war, saying that he
   would not
   > rule out using military force to disarm either North Korea or Iran, and
   that
   > makes him the biggest warmonger of all.

Oh, bullshit. Those are statements that identify him as a responsible
leader - not a 'war monger'.

   > If you are a peace activist and you think that Howard Dean is your man

Then you're a damn fool. Dean never claimed to be a 'peace activist', nor
does this 'popular misrepresentation' exist anywhere except your mind.

Nice cut-and-paste job. Come back when you have some original thoughts.
