It'd be nice to know       >whether they're simply waiting for Bush to be out of the picture.                     I think national and international institutions and forces are working       for Bushes removal. I think OPEC raising prices is in part aimed at       getting rid of Bush. German, French, and other old Europe resistance       is similarly aimed at making things worse before November. Spain's       shift from Iraq to Afghanistan is to the same effect. Expect foreign       intelligence leaks embarrassing to Bush on warnings and readiness, and       steady foot dragging on cooperation or rescue for Iraq. (After Spain's       election and local election results in France - these leaders also       see Bush as a threat to their own re-election also. They also see US       empire efforts and unilateralism as setting up against a unified       Europe to negate any chance of Europe becoming a unified Superpower       able to compete or balance US global interests.)              Within the country the military, state, and CIA have large factions       working to get rid of him. After being ignored or worse going into       Iraq and then being blamed for the failures they warned against their       "support" is evaporating. I suspect even the Fed will be going for       him before the end. Expect the first increase in interest by August.       (IMHO.) And a steadily increasing series of leaks and outspoken       "disgruntled employees".              The guy is seen by most of the world as the greatest threat to world       peace and stability. Outside of his own following of neo-cons, empire       builders, corporate cronies and religious fundamentalists, only Al       Qaeda really wants him in. Al Qaeda sees his bellicose, "with us or       against us", Israeli style escalation of conflict as giving them a       higher profile, drawing more recruits and launching the Islamic war       they want.              I believe the final outcome will see kerry approaching 60%.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
