   When the hell has any president or candidates behavior during the Vietnam   
   era affected their popularity one way or the other? It's something that's   
   been screamed about for the last ten years about lots of candidates but it   
   never seems to affect anybody at the polls. It didn't help McCain and it   
   didn't seem to bother Clinton supporters. God knows Bush supporters don't   
   care if Dubya was even showing up at the guard base. It could be revealed   
   tomorrow that he was AWOL for years and nobody who likes him now would   
   change their mind.
