Nothing could be further       > from the truth.              I FIRMLY hold the belief that if it were NOT for the protestors the war       in Vietnam would have gone on for years. Thankfully there were people       like your husband that went the extra mile after his time in the service.              It was a war widely supported by older Americans that served in WWII and       Korea and held a strong belief of "My country, right or wrong." The       concept of disagreeing with the government was forign to them. It took       a while for the older people aka "those in power" to also accept the       fact it was a bad war. Too bad it took 58K dead soldiers to convince them.              Every single person I knew was sympathetic to those that were drafted       and sent off to war. Those that served, their choices were limited       since they didn't have the connections bush, Quayle, and others had.              And it IS true that the Republicans spit on the vets at the GOP       convention that were protesting the war. I wouldn't be surprised if       bush was sloshed at the convention cheering the spitters on.              >       > BTW, just in case it's not clear enough from the above, we support John       > Kerry 100%. We would NEVER vote for a lying deserter...       >              Most current war mongers are those that never served.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
