Serious enough       that, in classic chickenhawk fashion, in order to save his own ass he will       most likely roll over on whoever gave him the memo, assuming that he doesn't       turn up "suicided" in a cheap hotel room somewhere, which is far more likely       if he's actually the guy. Come to think of it, even if Gannon wasn't Novaks       source he could be in serious trouble just for having that information,       unless he had a security clearance. In fact, if there's a dead pool on him,       a person might do well to put a few bucks on his untimely, imminent demise.       Gannon's a loose cannon right now and the Bush administration hates loose       cannons.                            Currently, the mainstream media, in its neverending crusade to Protect       George, is claiming that any attempt to get to the bottom of this story is       an assault on their "freedom" because it compromises confidential sources.       The fact that the source of this is remaining confidential not because of       fear of retaliation because they exposed wrongdoing, but because they are       the **source** of the wrongdoing, seems to have escaped almost everybody in       the media. That pinhead Lou Dobbs was ranting like an ass about it the other       day, defending the commission of serious Federal Crimes because condemning       them would have made some anonymous Bush crony look sleazy. As a media       pillar of upright, Christian, Republican morality he clearly was not       listening very closely to himself and appeared to be reading a prepared       statement that had been faxed to him. "Freedom of the press" is a       meaningless term when most of the press refuses to use it in any case where       it makes George W Bush look bad.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
