   any other Republican president's administration; now it's suddenly the   
   most important thing in the universe.   
      
   If "the American people" want you to hold up increasing the debt ceiling   
   during the Biden administration (as court jester Kevin McCarthy puts   
   it), "the American people" also wanted you to hold up increasing the   
   debt ceiling during the 12 years of Republican administrations since   
   2000.
