(KWCH) – A train derailment in Ford County has reduced US 400       near Dodge City has closed one lane in both directions.              The derailment caused major damage to the tracks and highway. There were no       reports of injuries, and a Kansas Highway Patrol representative said there       wasn’t any indication of an ongoing public health concern. Railroad crews       responded to the scene for        repairs, and closures are expected to last at least well into Tuesday.              https://www.kwch.com/2023/06/06/train-derailment-causes-closure-       s-400-near-dodge-city/              The Wickedest Little City in the West              [Trainmasters would take their red caboose lanterns along when visiting the       town’s “soiled doves” – and the term “red light district” came to       life.]              During those early years, Dodge City also acquired an infamous stamp of       lawlessness and gun-slinging. There was no local law enforcement, and the       military had no jurisdiction over the town. Buffalo hunters, railroad workers,       drifters, and soldiers        scrapped and fought, leading to the shootings where men died with their boots       on. This created a hasty need for a local burial place – Boot Hill Cemetery.              https://visitdodgecity.org/94/History              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
