From: lessgovt@gmail.com              Seraphina, June 5       There's also the problem with all forms of socialism that they are founded on       the idea of central planning. No matter what name a socialist system goes by,       they all have central planning at their heart. Central planning doesn't work       because it cannot        adapt to every dynamic situation for every group’s unique needs and wants,       and the bureaucrats that decide how everything is going to be run often have       no practical experience. Solving things at the lowest level possible is always       going to be the most        efficient and effective.              However, the real harm of planned societies is the necessity of centralized       power that has the authority to enforce the planning. Centralized power       results in tyranny 100% of the time because it is a magnet for the corrupt and       power hungry.              You could argue that it will work with the right people, but this is a very       foolish notion because you can no more guarantee that everyone in a position       of power will not abuse that power than you can guarantee that each of us       would always do the right        thing with no threat of personal consequences if we don't.              What's more is that Marxist socialism is impossible because you cannot abolish       hierarchies. You cannot have a planned economy without centralized authority,       and the moment some hold authority over others, you have a hierarchy. Central       planning and power        with a hierarchical structure is functionally fascism.              If you want proof of that, look at the CCP. They have a government based on       central planning over both society and economy that is strictly enforced.       They're highly nationalist and are adamant about blood and soil. They imprison       ethnic groups that don't        conform to their vision of how things must be, and they use brutal       authoritarian methods to keep the population under control.              Now consider every other communist revolution. The people who gain power never       give it up, and the people end up with a dictatorship that's supported by an       oligarchy.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
