   In 2019, San Nicolas was alleged to have engaged in a sexual   
   relationship with a staff member, converted campaign funds to   
   personal use and/or accepted improper or excessive campaign   
   contributions. The House Committee on Ethics began an investigation.   
   In 2020, the House Committee on Ethicsestablished an Investigative   
   Subcommittee to further investigate the allegations following a   
   referral from the Office of Congressional Ethics. In 2021, the   
   Investigative Subcommittee was reauthorized for the 117th Congress.
