you know, all in all, I don't have a problem with people looking for
work. I've seen a lot of jobs get done in record time by immigrants. It
took half the manpower and was completed in record time. I bet the guy
who "hired" these folks weren't even paying them hardly $5 and hour, but
he did give them a place to live. No, it probably wasn't the Ritz hotel,
but it beat rescue missions and cardboard boxes.
BUT, they know what they are going to get when they get here (low wages,
etc). What I don't like is my tax money paying to supply them and their
families with medical care and pharmaceuticals (cost free) when I
struggle daily to make it from paycheck to paycheck.
I mean, my husband has to be out of work for two months straight, even
on his low wages, to even think of applying for food stamps. Yet the
immigrant community is granted approval almost instantaneously.
Let them come here, but don't make me or any other American support
them. If Americans want to give them jobs, working their farms, etc...,
then let THOSE people be financially responsible for them.
Or let them stay in Mexico
Do you see Canadians flocking to America to latch onto our welfare
programs?
