   That is likely because of the behaviour of certain unions such as the RMT.

   That has certainly happened in this thread. There are particular   
   industries that have never had unions and have always paid well in order   
   to attract those with the best skills. If you are unskilled then   
   perhaps you should thank your union. The rest of us can thank the   
   market forces that make our skills more valuable to employers.
