From: wernerhetzner@gmail.com              Success is all around. Whenever someone takes good care of offspring you       observe libertarian society. Whenever someone makes an effort to improve his       life you see a libertarian in action. Whenever you see a business you       libertarians at work. A ‘       collective’ does nothing because a collective doesn’t think or do or care.       Individuals do. Society is comprised of people working cooperatively for their       own interest with other people who do the same.               Take you for example. Are you a collective? Or do you seek to influence other       individuals? How are you different from any other social interaction?       Capitalists seek to influence. I seek to influence. Union leaders seek to       influence. How do we attempt to        influence others? By appealing to their interests. There are many interests       and often they have little in common.               Individual effort and self interest motivate action. Collectives do nothing.       Collectivists only react to what they want to follow. Socialist societies       minimize individuals, so they minimize new ideas and innovation. Socialist       societies demand obedience        and sacrifice of individuals for the group. Individuals tend to avoid       self-sacrifice, obedience and risk. This is especially so if the sacrifice and       risk is involuntary. Israel’s Kibbuz collectives lost vigor as well.       Christian monastery life lasted        for a long time but hardly exists anymore.               As for environmental caring, it was started not by a collective but by       individuals like everything else in societies.        https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Environmental_movement              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
