   Sounds like the supper table discussion when I was a kid. My mother was   
   Dutch Reformed, my father Catholic. Fortunately neither took religion   
   all that seriously.

   The Strassers tried. Unfortunately taking power requires money. There   
   were aspects of the Reich like the KdF that would be seen as socialistic   
   by the US 'conservatives'. Since there haven't been many socialists in   
   the US for 100 years or so they are unfamiliar with the real thing. Even   
   Sanders misidentifies himself as a democratic socialist.
