   Pioneering democracy didn't avoid the Sonderbundskrieg. With only 100 or   
   so killed it has no comparison to the fascist Abraham Lincoln   
   consolidating the power of the federal government in the US. The outcome   
   was the same with the bourgeois liberals gaining power.
