"From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs" is a
seductive slogan. But it's merely a slogan. It does not conform to human
behavior. Many people rationalize a Common Good which does not exist. People
   tell themselves they seek
equality. Workers may 'strike' for higher wages in the name of 'equality'. But
they never strike to lower wages for equality. They decry someone else's
higher profits but never their own higher wages. Yet both profits and wages
   make stuff more expensive
for customers including the poor. http://www.endit.info/Socialism.shtml
