The Spanish Flu did happen but I don't know if it made much of an
impression. Both of my parents were young adults at the time but never
talked about it. In the same way, I've lived through the '57 Asian flu
and the '68 Hong Kong flu but don't recall any disruption. I certainly
wasn't forced to wear a mask, restrict my activities, and so forth. In
fact I was teaching junior high school in the fall of '68. Life went on.
