From: Josjoha@market.socialism.nl              Proponents of 'Basic income' think that it will work to just give       everyone a living wage. EVery problem that this system may have, they       counter with the idea that people will just keep working for extra       money.              One of the things they seem to neglect, is that they couldn't even make       this work for the business they have been working for. They couldn't       even manage to set up something like a Basic Income with incomparably       fewer people than the entire State of a Nation. If they could not bring       their company owners/bosses to heel, then what makes them believe they       can do just that when it becomes incomparably harder to do on the       National level ?              For a business, they wouldn't even have needed to reform an existing       business, because they could just resolve to start a new one, and make       sure the profits are shared equally, or at least that they had a say in       it.              If they had done this, first of all there wouldn't be any problem left       to solve (please notice this, the problem is solved at this point, or       mostly solved if you compare it to some of the more fantastical believes       about 'basic income'). If they had done this at the company level, it       would proof that this Nation its people possess the fortitude and       morality and care to at least do this on a smaller scale, so that could       give some hope that it might also work on a larger scale. If on the       other hand they do not manage it on the small scale (which they       generally do not), then why do they think they can manage it on a larger       scale ? (I think the answer to that is: they do *not think*.)              Even if they could do it, it is still a massive mistake, because it       destroys the market. Once you have a planned economy, you destroyed the       market because everyone is already payed (supposedly) from the central       command center. There are too many problems with Basic Income to just       give counter arguments in one posting. You probably need a book for it       to list all the problems in detail, and you can spice it up with the       disaster of Stalinist Russia and other centralized planned economies.              P.S.              Basic income is a plan which was called 'Helicopter money' from the       idea fo just throwing money out of an helicopter to the masses       to keep the system going for a bit longer. it was an idea the big banks       where apparently interested in. Then suddenly not long after this was       mentioned in some blog about the economy, ordinary people start being       propagandized and believing in 'Basic Income'.              The people will *not* just keep working as they would otherwise. The       people do not work for nothing, and even if they might still do some       work if they really like their work, it will generally collapse. The       system will then morphe from being activated by 'the carrot' (reward of       money), by the stick. It will become an abusive dictatorship, to force       people back to work.              You cannot spend money, money doesn't retain its value, if the person       you are trying to buy something from doesn't even show up for the job.       You can see how this plan is perfectly aligned with the top criminals in       the world, the ruling gangsters, who are lusting after a centralized       dictatorship over the entire world. Basic Income equals Tyranny.              People should be a bit smarter, and think: why do I even know about this       plan in the first place ? They think ideas can spread organically, and       though this may be theoretically possible, you don't just get space in       newspapers just because you have hair on your head. Once you see the       mass media promoting something, you know the top criminals are having       their plans with it.              The peolpe don't notice it, because they refuse to think whatsoever, in       any shape or form. To have an idea, to create pro and counter arguments,       to investigate them all and balance them like a puzzle (perhaps a       difficult puzzle), they just don't do it. They just don't invest any       time or energy into things like this, whatsoever.              Non-think is the basic populist platform of Basic Income.                     --       Economic & political ideology, worked out into Constitutional models,       with a multi-facetted implementation plan. http://market.socialism.nl              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
