   A population or a police force roughly 5 times as large doesn't go very   
   far towards explaining over 200 times as many deaths.

   Actually, they'd have stood back and gunned him down. Which is why the   
   perp would probably have been armed himself and would have tried to   
   shoot the officers first. Which is really why so many US police officers   
   get killed.   
      
   I don't think that the UK police were particularly well-organised in   
   that video, but in the end they subdued the guy without anybody being   
   badly hurt.
