   Saying "Pregnant people" is speciesism and excludes those who identify as   
   cats or dogs or other taxa. It would be discriminatory and very   
   distressing for someone who identifies as a giraffe or a kangaroo to be   
   referred to as a "pregnant person" and a better term must be found,   
   "expectant being" would be a good alternative.   
      
   There is also the question of beings who are not in a strictly medical   
   condition of expectancy but nevertheless identify as being pregnant. They   
   also have the right to be called pregnant and given full pre-natal and   
   maternity care.
